Our Microtron electron beam accelerator works by accelerating electrons in a circular motion. Such a configuration maximizes space utilization and efficiency results in a compact size, at just 65cm OD for the Microtron body. Multiple electrons at different energy levels/orbits are simultaneously accelerated by an RF cavity to increasingly higher energy levels until they are extracted from the Microtron. Such a configuration achieves a highly brilliant electron beam with under 1% of energy dispersion and 40KW 10MeV electron energy output. This is ideal for electron beam sterilization as this powerful system is capable of being incorporated within many existing facilities without extensive modification.


Each PPL Microtron accelerator is capable of providing 40 KW of output. Multiple units can be used together to provide higher levels of output. Such an arrangement also adds redundancy as well as live maintenance where only the machine under immediate service needs to be shut down.
