XRDX Ray Diffraction measurment for protein crystallography

◆ Se-MAD method is adopted to construct 3-D structure for protein crystal.
◆ Short measurement time is realized by high power MIRRORCLE RAY-CV4 and multilayer optics.
◆ Compact beam line is 1200 mm long.
◆ X-ray energy is calibrated by XAFS measurement in the same beam line.
◆ Sample can be cool down by liquid nitrogen flow refrigerator.
◆ Optics are composed in a small hatch filled with He gas and can be adjusted by remote control.

Optics

3 sets of confocal multilayer mirror and optics changing system are in the MIRRORCLE storage ring. These provide semi-monochromatic X-ray.

  Accurate collimation by tungsten block and 4 quadrant slit
  Si(111) crystal produces high energy resolution (⊿E/E≒5000) monochromatic X-rays, which name 0.982Å, 0.980Å and 0.954Å. These energies are defined by XAFS scanning around Se-K-Edge.
Alignment of optics All optics are adjustable by remote control.
Sample holder

Sample holder for XAFS measurement is set into beam line hatch.

Sample is mounted on 4-axis goniometer for XRD pattern imaging.

Sample can be refrigerated by liquid nitrogen flow system.

Detector

2-D imaging decice (PILATUS 300K)

I0 and I monitor (ion chamber)
